How to Choose the Right Paintball Gear
Playing paintball is one of the best ways to get an adrenaline rush and play a highly physical sport. Agility and skill is required to succeed at paintball, and you can bring your strengths into the game so that you can create a playing style that closely matches the physical abilities that you have. Another important aspect of paintball is to choose good, quality paintball gear, especially when it comes to the protective wear. You can make do with a cheap gun or tank, but you need to be more careful when you go to pick out a mask.
With all of the paintball gear on the market, it can be hard to find what you really need. While you can buy good clothes that match your surroundings or get some extra o-rings in case yours break, the most important equipment that you will have are your gun, your protective paintball gear, and your tank.
Price is usually a consideration when it comes to choosing a gun, but you should also look for a gun that fits comfortable for your frame. With a paintball gun that is too big, you won’t be able to move as effectively or hide from your opponents. You should find a gun that is powerful but still light enough that you can carry it on the move without feeling the extra weight. When you are buying a gun, you also have to consider that you will be carrying your hopper with you and some other gear, so you should factor that in to your decision as well.
Your hopper is another important piece of paintball gear that you will have to get before you can play the game. Manually loading the balls is just not an option, so you need a device that will allow you to load balls continuously throughout the game. Most of the hoppers on the market can hold as many as 200 paintballs, so you don’t have to worry about refilling during the game (unless your tactic is to shoot all the time).
You will also need a tank to shoot the paintballs. Whether you choose the CO2 version or an compressed air model, you should find one with enough power so that you don’t have to reload it frequently or during a game. CO2 is the most readily available so many paintball players use this because it is the cheapest and most reliable option.
